Rite of the Firmament

And far beyond the vale of night
The vastness of time separated
the light from the darkness
And the Ancient One spoke
With a voice like thunder
A sound to shatter mountains
"Let there be a firmament
erected between the house of day
and the house of night
So that the passing of each
Shall never mingle with the wards
of dawn and twilight."
Having spoken thus,
They were separated thus
And the Ancient One was pleased

-From the Kerijanh Fragments of the Song of Son'Jiatt

History
This Rite was first used by the Warriors of the Circled Dagger at the Siege of Monmora. High Master Jeraha, and his warriors of the Star Chamber, faced an onslaught of Jedi Masters the likes of which had not been encountered since the Battle of Deneba during the Great Sith War. Greatly outnumbered, Jeraha called upon the Darkness, and the allegiance of his circle of warriors. Ferran had vested in each the particular cunning of his own war-skills, and through this bond, Jeraha created the Rite, uniting the power of each participant so that all could tap deeper levels of the Dark Side through their mutual bonds of fraternity.

Krath scholars discovered the curious rite during excavations on Antei. When even the Oracle, Trevarus Caerick, was unable to decipher the requirements of the Ritual, the process was dictated to the Obelisk High Commander, who realized what it was. The Order of the Obelisk maintained enough of the traditions of the path of the Assassin, that he felt the cold resolve of Master Jeraha. High Commander Shaithis bestowed the secrets of this Art upon the Obelisk of House Dinaari of Clan Taldryan as a reward for their bravery.

Structure
By reciting the following oath in perfect unison, all the assembled Jedi of the Obelisk Order will have a level of power equivalent to the highest ranking Obelisk in the group for the duration of their immediate conflict.

"Perficere Ferro Anima constatum invictum."

Records
The Rite of the Firmament was awarded to House Dinaari for winning the Obelisk Rite of Supremacy "Bloodrites" (2004). Graphic made by then Guardian Daar Kareth.

Planetary Deed to Merach Territories

Through the rite of combat, mining rights for Sectors B-17 through B-30 of the planet Merach have been secured by the battlefield victories of Clan Taldryan. Sectors B-17 through B-30 have a rich deposit of ditanium, as well as a thick vien of adegan minerals, many of which may be used for lightsaber crystals. Transfered to Taldryan on Exodus Day, 21 ABY.

Orb of Pomojema

In Mimban mythology, Pomojema was a minor god who acted as a healer. The priests of Pomojema were suspected of performing acts of healing enhanced by the use of a legendary crystal. The Temple of Pomojema, originally located on Mimban, was the fabled resting spot of an immense crystal. A monstrous pyramidal ziggurat, the original building appeared to be made of cast iron, not volcanic rock. The building was old and decaying and was guarded by a hulking reptilian lizard-creature. The Temple of Pomojema was the site of Luke Skywalker's first duel with Darth Vader.

After a series of strange events that were never fully documented, House Ektrosis became the owners of the Kaiburr crystal, and renamed it the Orb of Pomojema. Instead of building a recreation of the original cast iron temple, the Ektrosians built their own structure to house the giant crystal, which had been discovered to have bizarre force powers. The temple was constructed of large stones, and during the Brotherhood's split with the Emperor's Hammer, it was moved piece by piece into Transport ships and flown to the new home of House Ektrosis.

The crystals true abilities only build upon its massive appearance. It can detect the imprint of the Light Side in Jedi and then quickly extinguish it, usually destroying the offending Jedi. It also has the power to heal and focus Dark Jedi on their tasks. Finally, it increases the power of a Dark Jedi exponentially. For all of the Orb's power, however, prolonged use of it will annihilate the user, and most of its powers require the user to hold it.

Records
The Orb of Pomojema was a possession of House Ektrosis and Clan Taldryan when the Brotherhood was part of the Emperor's Hammer. As already noted above, it moved with the Clan following the Exodus.

Orb of Growth

Made out of white crystal, this orb rests on a decorative stand. when a short ritual is performed, it has the ability to affect plant life close to it and turn it into pseudo-sentient sentinels. Such plants will be connected to the person conducting the ritual, who will thus be able to sense strangers and dangers through them. If the orb is destroyed or moved away more than 5 kilometers from the plants of the person connected to them, the effect is negated. For each person and ritual, there is a maximum of 5 connected plants.

Records
The Orb of Growth was a replacement for the Stone of Light, a past Clan possession, which was deemed too powerful after the Exodus and considered lost to the Emperor's Hammer. The Stone of Light was awarded to Clan Taldryan for efforts in a past Krath Vendetta, with the only evidence left to time being a documented Run-on. Phoenix Phyle Medallions

The medallion of Phoenix is an amazing item, but granted to a select few. At its center lies an intricately carved phoenix with the bird carved in such an expert way that as you tilt it slowly you can see flames burn at the bird's base. In the very center of the medallion lies a strange jewel. Its beauty is wonderful and the colors that the light makes in reflection are truly inspiring.

The medallions are believed to be enchanted. On the back of each medallion the Tetrarch himself or another important member carves the name of the recipient as well as a personal message. The message is truly special, for by channeling the force through the medallion, the Tetrarch ensures that the message can only be read by the recipient. This ensures that in times of need the recipient knows his master watches over him. (Description provided by KE Bubbles, edited by KAP Dark Sabre)

Only a few people are still in possession of one of these medallions, giving them immense control over flames. The current Tetrarch of Phoenix, whoever it may be, wears one as a loan. Those known to wear them include:

  • DJM Alanna Taldrya, Krath High Priestess, former Quaestor of Ektrosis
  • KPN Aragorn Unteminar, Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae, former Aedile of Ektrosis
  • DA Betja Jun, former Quaestor of Ektrosis
  • KE Bubbles Taldrya, former Quaestor of Ektrosis
  • KAP Blitzkrieg, former Quaestor of Ektrosis
  • KP Vodo Biask, former Sergeant
  • DJK Malevolent Blade, former Tetrarch

Ring of Valor

Neutral in the Force, this plain silver ring enhances a Force sensitive person's mental strength and desire in the path chosen by said person. After wearing it for a while (usually 1 - 3 months), the clarity so gained stays even without the ring and makes it less likely for someone to stray from this path.

In training, the ring can be used to let students fell how they could be if they would apply themselves better even without letting them wear the ring for long.

Records
Clan Taldryan won a large fiction competition hosted by KHP Arania Lawakiro and the pre-approved award for the top Clan was the Ring of Valor. This came at a time when the current Grand Master, Archibald Zoraan, had personal issues with Clan Taldryan and it's leader. Zoraan didn't want the ring given to a "traitor Clan", and the Deputy Grand Master told the Krath High Priestess to hold off with it for the time being. After the Zoraan Uprising the ring was left forgotten and only resurfaced four Grand Masters later.

Taku Matsuki Taldrya's Lightsaber

Taku "Crix" Matsuki Taldrya was killed in action during the Eighth Great Jedi War and his lightsaber has now become a relic held by Clan Taldryan

History
After Taku "Crix" Matsuki Taldrya's death in the Eighth Great Jedi War, all of the former Archanis Quaestor's possessions were transfered to his successor, Andan Taldrya Marshall. He carried the lightsaber for a while until he constructed a second saber using the same hilt design with an orange blade. After consulting with Consul Duga Taldrya Arkarso the original, white-bladed saber was declared a clan relic which was to be passed down to all Quaestors who lead House Archanis from that point forward.

The lightsaber gives the wielder no special powers, it is simply a piece of Clan Taldryan and House Archanis history which has been preserved and is passed down from one leader of the house to the next.

Because House Archanis is currently closed, the lightsaber has remained in Andan Taldrya Marshall's possession and will remain so until the house is reopened and a new Quaestor appointed.

Note: Since the lightsaber is a custom saber, only Quaestors who can request custom lightsabers are able to display the lightsaber on their profile. If they aren't ranked high enough, they are still given the lightsaber and it can be added to the profile once the Quaestor reaches the correct rank.

Ateliuc Blade

The Ateliuc Blade is a vibroblade with special qualities for wielders of Elementalism. The weapon has a silver hilt with a grip, followed by a blue blade. When held by a true Taldryan, their innate power enables the weapon to act as a conduit for elemental energy, a coursing of electrical power running down the blade. With this power, hitting the flesh can cause slight to severe electrical shocks, all dependent on how long contact is and the ability of the user. Its blade is covered with small amounts of cortosis causing it to stand up to a lightsaber. It can handle a few full-blown attacks from tough opponents, but not much more than that.

History
The Ateliuc Blade is a dangerous and yet elegant weapon handed down from leader to leader and now is entrusted to certain individuals that prove their worth to the Clan.

Late in Kir Taldrya Katarn's years as Consul, he was approached by a legendary figure in the Clan with a special gift that few had only heard about. Dark Prophet Telaris "Mav" Taldrya Cantor brought a weapon to the Consul's Chambers with the intentions of passing it down to Kir, for his proven dedication and loyalty to Taldryan. It was called the Ateliuc Blade. Mav gave no explanation of where it came from or what it had been through, but Kir had heard rumors of the weapon over his tenure.

Supposedly the blade was found in the initial exploration of the Kr'Tal system. Stories say it was used by some of the strongest Jedi in the Clan in slaying many of the massive sea serpents of Muraght and in major combat such as the Sixth Great Jedi War. Some even say someone was seen going into the Blidge Forest with this very blade and made it out the other side without any damage, being one of the few if any to do such.

The Ateliuc Blade is a type of vibroblade, meaning it is a melee weapon that uses ultrasonic vibrations to increase cutting effectiveness. This is done by there being a small ultrasonic generator in the hilt. The vibration caused can results in much more damage being dealt in combat, a normal blow causing huge wounds. To make it most effect to Jedi it was slightly coated in cortosis making it capable of fighting hand to hand with lightsaber welders. In the hands of a skilled swordsman, especially one intone with the force, this is fine choice for any warrior.

After being passed down from Kir to the sitting Consul, Duga Taldrya Arkarso, the blade was held for a time in his hands. After the Seventh Great Jedi War and with even greater conflict coming soon enough, Duga decided to hold a Taldryan Championship ladder to find the best warrior in the Clan and to that person would be bestowed the mysterious weapon. Until the next Championship, that person would be granted the right to use it however he or she wishes, as long as they stay loyal and true to the call of Taldryan.

Records

Obtene Crystal Sword

This sword was fashioned by the finest weaponsmiths, and the most powerful sorcerers that the Brotherhood has. At their heart lies a crystal used in the creation of a lightsaber. Unlike a lightsaber, it does not require a power cell, as it's powered directly by the dark side. The flame is projected around a cortosis-weaved blade, and has the properties one would normally expect in a lightsaber with the same crystal, albeit more powerful. Created with an Obtene crystal, this Crystal Sword is, and will be, unique. Using it will not be without risk. It absorbs the light, as well as the force, from around it.

History
Following the Invasion of Coratua the Dark Council awarded Taldryan a special gift for their exemplary work in pushing through the enemy locations and securing the main headquarters. The sword has since seen little use as it takes a true master to really use, as it drains the force around it. The Taldryan Consul attempted to use the weapon during the closing battle of the Third Brotherhood Civil War. While it performed remarkably, it drew down the Exarch's power quickly. The Elders of the Clan have been given open invitations to use the sword since then as they have the true power needed for such an item.

The First Sword of Shadows

Linked with the Second Sword of Shadows, this Force weapon is able to hold up to any lightsaber. Supposedly, more of them exist, but this is not proven as of yet.

The sword needs to be activated in a short ritual to unfold it's true power. It holds an echo of the spirit of it's creator, a swordsmaster. When activated, the echo will create an overlay on the mind of the wielder (not taking control) and allow him or her to fight as well as the swordsmaster in ancient times - given the wielder is physically able to hold up. Used like this often enough, the wielder will take up the same skills.

The First Sword of Shadows also enables the wielder to know the moves of the opponent several seconds in advance. When used side by side with the Second Sword, the abilities of the weapons link and create a most unbeatable pair of fighters.

Placed on a specially prepared altar in a training area, the echo of the swordsmaster will invoke it's old memories in the minds of students of martial arts, enabling them to learn as if being taught by him personally.

Any Light Sider using this sword will inevitably fall to the Dark Side.

History
Following the K'hamar'an Crisis Krath High Priestess Alanna Taldrya awarded the First and Second Swords of Shadow to Clan Taldryan for their dominance over the enemy above the other Clans of the Brotherhood. When members of the mysterious K'hamar'an cult infiltrate the Dark Brotherhood and stole many of their texts and artifacts, the Krath High Priestess led Brotherhood forces to the K'hamar'an homeworld of to reclaim the artifacts and put an end to the K'hamar'an problem. Since that time the swords have been used by many Taldryan Elders and Equites to train and in heated battles. The Clan keeps a tight hold on these valuable weapons.

Sword of the Avenger

At first glance this appears to be a normal broadsword. The hilt is bound in simple black leather, the pommel jewel a blood red ruby. Below this, the crosspiece is a scrolling piece of gleaming silver, engraved with the figures of men in postures of supplication and surrender. The blade is long and tapers to a wicked point. A blood-channel runs down the center of the blade on each side, graven with delicate markings, all tinted with the faint color of dried blood, indicating that it has been used in many battles.

When used by a Force-sensitive swordsman, he becomes able, no matter what his rank (although he must rank Priest/Warrior to be able to use the sword in the first place), to access the Powers of Force Harmony and Dark Jedi Battle Meditation. If he is a leader of men, this power is especially useful to him. His powers of healing are also exponentially increased. However, the Sword has a limited period of effectiveness, and after 15 minutes, the wielder is not only unable to access the powers of the Sword, but also unable to use the Force himself until he has rested for a full 24 hours. Furthermore, the powers of the Sword cannot be used by any swordsman below the rank of Priest or Warrior, and even then the effort to use the Powers through the Sword can be extremely difficult and taxing. Many have died in the attempt.

The Sword of the Avenger may be coupled with the Chalice of Vengeance to increase the power and effects of the sword.

Banner of Ice

Made from what seems to be a sheet of cold fabric the Banner of Ice is a mainstay at the stronghold for Taldryan. This object is capable of stopping any fire, lightening or heat attacks inside the headquarters and can even be used on the bridge of Taldryan's flag ship if properly mounted. Users will only feel half the enemy attack during the fight and twenty-four hours after leaving the stronghold. The Banner of Ice was forged by Dark Jedi Master Alanna Taldrya, Dark Jedi Master Keirdagh Taldrya Cantor, and by Dark Side Adept Shadow Taldrya on the planet of Kaltace. Created on one of the secret facilities on the frozen planet this prized possession was weaved with Krath sorcery, Sith Alchemy, and Obelisk strength for use in battle but it has its drawbacks. After extended periods of time the user will feel the effects of such a cold cloth and experience typical symptoms of exposure to extreme cold. It is not advised that younger members of the Clan use the banner for extended periods of time as they are not well trained in the ways of the Force and may end up freezing themselves in a fight.

Stone of Light

A living globe of crystal, the Stone of Light, icy shards of power pulsating from it's core. If one were to gaze upon this stone without being consumed in its rage, the images of screaming souls trapped in a violent cloud would fill the mind. The stone's outer orb radiated a light from the heavenlies, though its core burned a savage black, seeming forged of the purest hate. The most powerful of men who have gazed past the blinding light to the actual surface of this stone have seen the delicately inscribed writing of old: "Lun'akiz salrey mowr'te raibraesa dronaki." "Thrice warned, the fate of the moon is mine."

History
The first known man to fall victim to the will of this Stone of Light, this Moon Orb was documented as Anarion Anastrien whose former greeds had led him to many powerful artifacts. Through word of mouth over the ages, his story has been twisted and changed to suit the generations. Now, the finest scholars the Empire has to offer have discovered what they believe to be "the truth" about this stones history and path of destruction. Once a man of perfectly noble character (for a mage), Anarion was placed on the Elbiran Council of Mages. As magic often does, his position and confidence in his magical abilities drove Anarion to new ambitions. It was not enough anymore to be on the Council, he would rule it, and thus the city. His journey would not be easy, he was the lowest member of the Council and his powers were much to be desired in comparison to the elders, but Anarion had a plan. He sought out and obtained the most powerful artifacts ever known to the system, including the famed Stone of Light, though this prize was actually kept secret from the people of Elbiran and even the Council itself. Mysteriously, the people and mages of the Council who had once seen Anarion as nothing more than a fortunate initiate into the infinite world of magic, began to fear, and worse, hate Anarion. For he had used the powers of his artifacts to gain more power than anyone could have imagined.

It is now believed that Anarion was able to use the Moon Orb to draw raw power from whoever he chose, and that is exactly how he rose to the head of the Council to rule Elbiran. The people soon began to tremble at his very name, as his power seemed to grow, and his Council seemed to weaken exponentially each day, developing an even darker countenance, as if the void left in them from the loss of so much power served only to turn into pure hatred. In assumed secret, the elders of the Council gathered to discuss how they would dispose of the crazed leader who was destroying them all. They had hired the ambitious liberator Cormyr, who knew that he alone would rid the system of this tyrant, and rule it for himself. Unfortunately, as it always is, Anarion the Cruel had eyes and ears everywhere, for no place was secret to the holder of the stone, and he awaited his assassin with cynical glee. Not many days hence, the battle for the right to rule had begun. With the Stone of Light between them, Anarion and Cormyr fought to the bitter end, destroying much of the city with it. Citizens with enough strength to flee, fled the system entirely, leaving only the warriors, the stone, and the shadows. This battle ended in short triumph from Cormyr, who finally defeated Anarion and realized exactly where his power had come from. Ascending into the highest ruins of the falling tower, Cormyr discovered the Stone of Light that had been the destruction of lives in the hands of the tyrant. Gazing into the stone, he could see anything he wanted at all, and even deeper still, the softly glowing words. "Lun'akiz salrey mowr'te raibraesa dronaki." In haste, Cormyr let foolish greed consume him and uttered the words past his owns lips - and in haste, his last breath was drawn. The stone seemed to shudder as it fell to the ground, consuming the spirit of its wielder. Shadows still lingered, for there were other eyes who knew of this power and sought it hungrily. Few found the stone, and fewer dared touch it.

Though the eyes of the Brotherhood still watched, eager to test this power to its truest potential. Through studies, we have determined the stone is used not for the purpose of locating individuals as the aspect of being able to see through the orb might suggest, but actually absorbs power from its targets and transfers it to the wielder. The absence of power is usually filled with the strongest hatred. Though its use is not without limits or consequence. It is possible to absorb power from a being without causing death, though death often occurs in instances of lesser beings. A dangerously unknown limit of 'charges', for lack of a better word, exists within the orb. If the limit is passed the stone of light will turn on its wielder, consuming all of his existence in a last attempt to preserve itself. This limit has not been determined and appears to vary.

Records
The Stone of Light was awarded to House Ektrosis for taking first place in a Krath Vendetta (March 2002). At some point following the Exodus the artifact was replaced by the Orb of Growth. The only fiction we have about the Stone was recorded in a Run-on for the event it came from.
